In addition to agency partnerships, we work directly with individual clients, offering personalized mental health support. Our clinician brings extensive expertise in mental wellness, delivering compassionate, high-quality care with strict adherence to legal and ethical standards.
I’m Donnisha Hebert, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland, committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion and expertise. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, I completed my studies in Psychology and Women’s Studies at Xavier University of Louisiana. I went on to earn my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C.
Throughout my career, I have focused on supporting children, unhoused adolescents, and families in various capacities. I’ve held roles as a Camp Counselor, Exhibit Facilitator, After School Program Facilitator, Lead Residential Staff, and Community Developer, working in settings such as schools, children’s museums, and shelters for both families and unhoused youth. I previously provided therapy to students in schools and now offer telehealth services to adolescents, adults, families, and couples. My extensive training in trauma-informed care, relational dynamics, and other specialized therapeutic modalities informs my practice. I also enjoy creating psychoeducational resources to support both my clients and the general public.
I believe that therapy is a deeply personal journey, and my goal is to create a safe, open, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your most important goals and gain insight into your challenges. My therapeutic approach is rooted in an Existential Humanistic framework, which focuses on exploring your unique experiences, personal responsibility, and the search for meaning in life. I believe in meeting you where you are and working collaboratively to understand your subjective experience, helping you to connect with your values and navigate life's complexities with greater clarity and purpose.
While Existential Humanistic principles guide my practice, I also incorporate a versatile and integrative counseling style that draws from various evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused techniques, and trauma-informed care. This allows me to tailor my approach to your specific needs and goals, ensuring that the therapy process is aligned with your personal journey.
I utilize mindfulness, motivation techniques, and stress reduction strategies to support you in managing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and other life transitions. By integrating these approaches, I aim to empower you to make meaningful changes, develop resilience, and move forward with confidence. Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and open-minded, designed to help you understand yourself more deeply and create the life you want to live.
